In a new announcement, Riot games have stated that they are working on a mobile version of the FPS shooter Valorant. The hugely popular first person shooter will surely make waves in the gaming community once the mobile version is launched. The developers, however, have not given any further information or any timeline on when they are planning to release it.
The mobile version was long rumoured to be in the making and Riot’s statement just confirmed the speculations. The announcement comes exactly a year after the launch of the original Valorant. This can be seen as Riot’s attempt at entering the lucrative mobile gaming market.
How the developers will optimize the game-play mechanics and it’s nature will be interesting to see as this is a game that requires precise aiming. For a fact, we know that there will be no cross-platform gaming.
Valorant executive producer, Anna Donlon in a statement said “One of our top goals this first year was to earn the trust and respect of the global FPS community. To prove to the players that Valorant will always uphold the fundamentals of a truly worthwhile competitive tac-shooter“. Also stating that the company is thrilled to see the positive response and appreciation they are getting from fans.
Since it’s release, the FPS shooter gained popularity very quickly and held their first LAN tournament within a year. The availability of the game on mobile devices might give another massive boost to the player base. For now, the announcement has fans and mobile gamers equally excited for the launch.
