UK Motorsport team McLaren Racing just unveiled it’s new McLaren Shadow Studio, which is going to be an exclusive space for it’s esports teams to train, race and produce content.
Part of the McLaren shadow project, the facility is based in Woking, UK, at the McLaren Technology Centre. The space will feature top of the line equipment from various partners that include AlienWare, Splunk and Logitech among others. After officially entering the esports scene in 2017, this is the next big step taken by the brand and confirms their commitment towards the future of the gaming and esports industry.
Lindsey Eckhouse, Director of e-commerce and esports, stated: “We are delighted to launch McLaren Shadow Studio and build on the fantastic work the team has pioneered in the esports space. We pride ourselves on bridging this connection and helping us evolve into the next chapter by broadening our reach beyond esports into gaming.”
McLaren is one of the biggest names in the racing world, and to see such a prominent brand make massive investments is very positive news for the esports industry. More and more companies from all sectors of the market are partnering up with esports brands, pointing towards a very bright future for the gaming industry as a whole.
