‘Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan’- starts July 5th!

Originally slated for 2020, the anime was delayed to July 2021, Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan, a dark comedy anime by Studio Blanc, is set to begin airing on July 5th, 2021.

The official website for the television anime of Life Lessons with Uramichi-Oniisan manga even uploaded a character promotional video on Wednesday, highlighting the titular character Uramichi Omota.

The series will center on a 31-year-old man named Uramichi Omota who has two sides to his personality. He acts as the young man in charge of physical exercises on the educational program “Maman to Together.” But he is actually a bit emotionally unstable, although he has a fresh and upbeat demeanor on the show. The manga reveals the less-than-sunny parts of life for young adults.

Kodansha, English licensor for the manga, describes it as:

How did the cynical Uramichi end up hosting a TV show for small children? And how long is the studio going to let him keep teaching the kids- the sorrow and exhaustion of life? Instead of, say, the ABCs? This dark comedy manga started as a webcomic and became a bestseller across Japan — with an anime coming soon.
