Venti is the mischievous free-spirited wine loving bard in Mondstadt. This bard can ride the very winds themselves into battle, which makes more sense when you realize he is actually the god, Barbatos. In this guide, you’ll soon learn more about this 5 star Anemo character, along with his best build, role, team compositions, artifact set and much more.
“A bard that seems to have arrived on some unknown wind – sometimes sings songs as old as the hills, and other times sings poems fresh and new. Likes apples and lively places but is not a fan of cheese or anything sticky. When using his Anemo power to control the wind, it often appears as feathers, as he’s fond of that which appears light and breezy.“

All the materials needed to reach max ascension level for Venti are listed down below. These can be obtained by defeating Anemo Hypostasis and Slimes. As for Cecilia, it can be collected in the wild at Starsnatch Cliff.
For upgrading talents, Ballad books are needed. These are the lists of total talent materials for Venti. The Ballad books are available every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday in Forsaken Rift located between Springvale and Dragonspine in Mondstadt.
Venti is best suited for support and controlling crowds of enemies. So, his attack priorities is mostly his elemental skill and burst, but if you plan to play him as a DPS, then upgrading his normal attack will be beneficial. Although it’s not his best role considering his kit.
Normal Attack: Divine Marksmanship
Perform up to 6 consecutive shots with a bow.
Perform a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG. While aiming, favorable winds will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged wind arrow will deal Anemo DMG.
Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Elemental Skill: Skyward Sonnet
O wind upon which all hymns and songs fly, bear these earth-walkers up into the sky!
Press: Summons a Wind Domain at the opponent’s location, dealing AoE Anemo DMG and launching opponents into the air.
Hold: Summons an even larger Wind Domain with Venti as the epicenter, dealing AoE Anemo DMG and launching affected opponents into the air. After unleashing the Hold version of this ability, Venti rides the wind into the air.
Opponents hit by Skyward Sonnet will fall to the ground slowly.
Press Cooldown: 6 seconds
Hold Cooldown: 15 seconds
Generate 3/4 elemental particles for press/hold when it hit at least 1 target.
Elemental Burst: Wind’s Grand Ode
Fires off an arrow made of countless coalesced winds, creating a huge Stormeye that sucks in objects and opponents along its path, dealing 18 times Anemo DMG in 8 seconds.
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Energy Cost: 60 energy
Elemental Absorption: If the Stormeye comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro elements, it will deal 50% additional elemental DMG of that type. Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use.

Embrace of Winds
Holding Skyward Sonnet creates an upcurrent that lasts for 20s.
Regenerates 15 Energy for Venti after the effects of Wind’s Grand Ode end. If an Elemental Absorption occurred, this also restores 15 Energy to all characters of that corresponding element.
Decreases gliding Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%.
Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.
Splitting Gales- Fires 2 additional split arrows per Aimed Shot, each dealing 33% of the original arrow’s DMG.
Breeze of Reminiscence- Skyward Sonnet decreases opponents’ Anemo RES and Physical RES by 12% for 10s. Opponents launched by Skyward Sonnet suffer an additional 12% Anemo RES and Physical RES decrease while airborne.
Ode to Thousand Winds- Increases the level of Wind’s Grand Ode by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
Hurricane of Freedom- When Venti picks up an Elemental Orb or Particle, he receives a 25% Anemo DMG Bonus for 10s.
Concerto Dal Cielo- Increases the level of Skyward Sonnet by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
Storm of Defiance- Targets who take DMG from Wind’s Grand Ode have their Anemo RES decreased by 20%. If an Elemental Absorption occurred, their RES towards the corresponding Element also decreased by 20%.
For the artifact, the best in slot is the 4 piece Viridescent Venerer set. This artifact set is one of the best artifacts in the game for anemo characters and Venti is no exception.
2-piece Set Effect:
– Anemo DMG Bonus +15%
4-piece Set Effects:
– Increases Swirl DMG by 60%. Decreases opponent’s Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s.
As for the the main stat and sub-stats, it depends on your team comp honestly, but here’s what I recommend.
- Flower- HP (fixed)
- Plume- ATK (Fixed)
- Sands- ATK%
- Goblet- Anemo DMG Bonus%
- Circlet- Crit RATE/DMG whichever is lower accordingly
Even though swirl damage scales off elementary mastery and character level, you will get more damage with a ATK% sands. And for energy recharge, you can get away with it with just 160%, but you can go higher if you want. With an ER Sands, you get 51.8% which is way too much. That leaves us with an ATK% or EM Sands. EM is good but ATK% deals more damage. For substats, focus on Crit Rate and Crit DMG along with energy recharge and elementary mastery.
For weapon, choose one that’s best according to your build, one that compliments with your artifact stats. That said the three best weapons for Venti are down below.
Stat Bonus: CRIT Rate upto 22.1%
Weapon Effect: Increases CRIT DMG by 20/25/30/35/40%. Hits have a 60/70/80/90/100% chance to inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125% Physical ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 4/3.5/3/2.5/2s.
Stat Bonus: Elemental Mastery upto 165.
Weapon Effect: Increases Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 24/30/36/42/48%.
Stat Bonus: CRIT Rate upto 27.6%
Weapon Effect: Upon hit, Normal and Aimed Shot Attacks have a 50% chance to generate a Cyclone, which will continuously attract surrounding opponents, dealing 40/50/60/70/80% of ATK as DMG to these opponents every 0.5s for 4s. This effect can only occur once every 14/13/12/11/10s.
For team comps, Venti fits in pretty much in any teams, but for now I’m going to focus more on a burst support Venti, as that is how most players use him as. This is just to be used as reference and can be altered anyhow you deem fit with your playstyle. Do use them as building blocks for your team. This will be more favourable for F2P players with only Venti as their 5 star. There are many team comps like that of triple anemo Xiao-Jean-Venti, or EM Childe one shot team that deals insane damage, but I won’t be mentioning them as this is purely just a beginners guide.
TEAM 1- Melt team
In this team, you have Xiangling as your main DPS, Chongyun as sub DPS, Bennett as your healer and Venti as support. This team is good team as you can spam their burst quickly. Xiangling’s Pyronado with Chongyun’s burst and skill will apply melt and on top of that with Bennett, you get Pyro resonance increasing your ATK by 25%, and Venti can swirl and glue all the enemies in one area with his burst.
TEAM 2- Overload team
This team works as well thanks to Venti. Since overload can cause smaller enemies to fling off and you’d have to chase them which can waste some time if you’re battling in the abyss. With Venti’s burst holding them in a spot, you can go crazy with overload reactions. You can also swap out Bennett for Diona if you want to add some superconduct in it for extra physical DMG and also if you want a shield.
